Bay leaves have an elliptic to oval form, are 5 to 10 centimeters long, and taper to a narrow tip. These short-stemmed, dark green leaves have a smooth, glossy sheen and a pale green underside when fresh. When dried, the leaves take on an ashy, olive-green tint and a brittle texture, with jagged and slightly curled edges.

Physical Properties
