Physical Properties

Borage flower and leaves are used in the treatment of fever, cough, and depression.

Borage is also used to treat adrenal insufficiency, for "blood cleansing," to enhance urine flow, to avoid lung inflammation, as a sedative, and to stimulate sweating. Borage is also used to treat bronchitis and colds, as well as to boost breast milk supply.

Borage oil is used to the skin to treat a red, itchy rash on an infant's scalp (seborrheic dermatitis), and it is also used in a dressing to soften the skin.

Borage is consumed in salads and soups.

Borage is utilized in the production of skin care products.
