A perennial plant from the mint family Lamiaceae. It grows between 28 - 59 inches tall. Small white flowers bloom during summer, which attracts bees. The leaves are used in teas and for flavoring dishes.
Lemon balm was planted near bee hives in ancient Turkey to attract bees. It was carried throughout Europe on Spanish trade routes.
