A perennial herb that's a member of the mint family Lamiaceae. It has needle-like leaves and pink, purple, white, or blue flowers. It's native to the Mediterranean. The name "Rosmarinus" comes from the Latin words "ros marinus" which means "dew of the sea." Rosemary was worn as wreathes by brides during their weddings. The French would burn rosemary in hospitals to purify the room.
